is with a heavy heart that the Club announces the recent passing of one of our original members, Del Cannon. Del was a champion swimmer, big wave pioneer, surfboard shaper, and big game sea captain for many years in Kona, Hi. Del was also an excellent Hearts card player and the star of Bruce Brown's early surf movies including Barefoot Adventure and Slippery When Wet. Bruce referred to Del Cannon as "The Laurence Olivier of the surf film." Our hearts go out to all the Cannon clan. RIP dear friend. Hope the sun is shining on you with a pole in one hand and a board in the other- and a couple of Buds in the cooler.
