Old Boards, No Cords

Updated: Mar 8, 2020

We had a great group of people in Pleasure Point for the 2018 Logjam. The weekend was full of aloha, team spirit, and excellent surfing. The waves were perfect for the event but the water was just a tad cold. The rental house was incredible, just a few blocks from the point, complete with a jacuzzi, access to a private beach, and bikes.

We got the party going on Friday with a quick stop at the giant artichoke and a classic WSC photo on top of the DeJourday surf mobile. Then we hit the waves for a practice session before the big event.

Saturday was an epic day. Everyone surfed their heats with style and grace on some of the most insane boards from the 60s. At the end of the day, the Windansea crew attended the coalition party at the church for dinner and results from the day. WSC members Joel Tudor, Matt Perreault, and Miranda Joseph had very strong results. The majority of the team made it through to Sunday for another awesome day of surfing. We celebrated back at the house that night.

WSC was fired up on Sunday. Everyone put their best efforts into their final heats. The Aloha heat starring Joel Tudor and Matt Perreault went flawlessly. Their surfing was in sync and their crossovers definitely impressed the crowd and judges. They received a well deserved first place. William Hennessy won the Paddle Race. Windansea seemed to take over the event with a strong showing in the finals in almost every division. We came out with 3rd place overall. Even though we didn’t win, we definitely would have won the spirit award!

This was my first Logjam ever, and I had a blast! It was a weekend to remember and I can’t wait to surf it next year.
